This package takes you to three national parks in western Uganda for five days and 4 nights. These parks are: Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi.
Detailed 5 Days Gorilla Safari Uganda Wildlife Tour
Day1: Kampala – Lake Mburo National Park
- After an early breakfast, set off from your hotel in Kampala for western Uganda. En route, there is a local community popular for making royal drums and crafts and then a fruit market. You could stop briefly and buy yourselves souvenirs. Proceed to the equator line and take photographs.
- Early afternoon, arrive in Lake Mburo for a lunch in the park grounds as you marvel at the the impala, zebra and elands feeding away on the pasture.
- Early evening, take a boat cruise on the lake, giving you a chance to view different bird species. Be on the lookout for the rare shoebill stock, the African finfoot and the red faced barbet which has only been seen in Lake Mburo NP!
- Take a game drive in the evening and look out for hyenas, leopards, topis, hippos, crocodiles and lions.
- Spend the overnight in the Community Guest house or the neighboring Mbarara town
Day 2: Lake Mburo – Mweya Safari Lodge
- After an early breakfast, leave Lake Mburo via Mbarara town and proceed to Bushenyi. Enroute, enjoy the scenic beauty of grasslands, tea plantaions and a clear view of the western arm of the rift valley. Arrive in time for lunch at Mweya safari lodge.
- After lunch, proceed for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. You will be amazed by the variety of bird species and animals drinking water on the shores of the channel. The hippos will delight you as some walk on the bed of the channel completely immersed while others splash water into the air with their enormous bodies. The boat cruise offers vantage points for photography.
- Return to the hotel for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Wake up very early for an early morning game drive to enable you see plenty of animals before they retire to rest. Expect lions, elephants, buffalos and bush bucks among others.
- Return to your hotel for breakfast
- Leave the hotel for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Through the Ishasha sector of QENP, you will be able to view the tree climbing lions
- Arrive in Bwindi by evening for your dinner and overnight
Day 4: Gorilla tracking
- Early morning, head for the impenetrable forest and track gorillas in the wild. The landscape is hilly and steep and offers a variety of animals such as baboons and colubus monkeys plus plenty of bird species. Picnic in the forest and enjoy lunch within the calm serenity of the wild
- Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 5: Bwindi – Kampala
- Have your breakfast in Bwindi and depart for Kampala thereafter
- Stop at spots of interest at your leisure
- Enjoy your lunch in Mbarara town
- Proceed and arrive in Kampala by evening
